Summary and Info
This volume is the third in a series of books coordinated and editedby the IUPAC Commission on Thermodynamics and Thermochemistry. In this book attention is concentrated upon the measurementof properties characteristic of the relaxation of a fluidfrom a non-equilibrium state – the transport properties. The text describes the current state of development of thetechniques for measurement of the transport properties of fluids andtheir mixtures including viscosity, thermal conductivity, diffusioncoefficients, thermal diffusion factors and thermal transpirationcoefficients. The volume contains a valuable summary of a varietyof experimental techniques applicable over a wide range ofthermodynamic states. The emphasis throughout is on the precisionand accuracy of the result obtained which is itself a large part of theremit of the Commission on Thermodynamics and Thermochemistryitself.
