Until shortly before the start of World War 1, Fokker’s business efforts consisted of the construction of Spin (spider) aircraft, and the operation of a flying school for military and civil students. During this time, sales were sparse and the period 1910 to 1914 became known as Anthony Fokker’s “years of adversity”. During 1913, Fokker produced the first prototype of the E-series monoplane, which he continued to produce through 1916. This work covers Fokker’s early ears and his production of various versions of the Fokker Eindecker series, the E.I, E.II, E.III and E.IV.
