Summary and Info
This Handbook for on-the-job welding personnel provides useful information on Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), as well as troubleshooting advice for mechanical and electrical problems. GMAW portion includes shielding gas information for spray arc transfer, shortcircuiting arc transfer, globular to spray transition currents, arc voltages, wirefeed speed, melting rates, and typical welding conditions for carbon and low alloy steels, stainless steels, and aluminum. FCAW portion includes specification and classification system for FCAW electrodes, and same topics as GMAW portion for CO2 and self shielding. Diagrams of welding positions and basic welding symbols are also provided. Content:• Front Matter • Table of Contents • Interactive Graphs Table (34) 1. Basic Safety Precautions 2. Gas Metal Arc Welding 3. Flux Cored Arc Welding • 4. Troubleshooting Mechanical Problems Encountered in GMAW and FCAW-G • 5. Troubleshooting Electrical Problems Encountered in GMAW and FCAW-G • 6. Welding Positions • 7. Basic Welding Symbols and Their Location Significance
