People from all walks of life and from all types of backgrounds are becoming increasingly interested in computers. As more and more microcomputers find their way into homes, offices, farms, and schools, enrollments in introductory computing courses are rapidly increasing. This diversified group represents a new wave of nontraditional students for whom the traditional university-oriented BASIC text is not very well suited.
